The college places a great deal of emphasis on research. Numerous
research projects have been carried out in this college. A total of 36 research
projects is currently on active. Most of the faculty members are engaged in
research as well as teaching, which in turn promotes education quality of the
college. More and more funding has been obtained. The funding is from various
sources including international partners, central and local governments, and
companies. This includes 2 from the Keio University of Japan, 4 from China’s
National Nature Science Foundation, 2 from State Ministry of Science and
Technology, 2 from State Ministry of Education, and more than twenty from the
provincial or county governments and companies.
Research projects are mainly focused on the following:
- Environmental and resources protection
- Regional sustainable development
- Ecosystem evaluation
- Geological hazards
- Monitoring of land use/cover dynamics
using remote sensing technology
- Urbanization and its impact on regional
environment based on remotely sensed imagery
Hundreds papers and many books have been published and various
