International
academic exchange is an important priority of the University.
Fuzhou University has established ties with universities
all over the world including the United Kingdom, the United
States, France, Germany, Australia and Japan.
Mr. Kristofer Marinus Schipper, a famous distinguished
French professor on the study of Chinese history, culture
and philosophy, and member of the Royal Dutch Academy
of Arts and Sciences, established the Fuzhou University
Global Civilization Research
Center and the Library of Western Belvedere in 2001.
This was done with the support from both The Netherlands
Ministry of Education and the Fujian Provincial Government.
The Library of Western Books is creating a home base of
resources of global civilization and making it available
through electronic communication networks to Chinese youth.
Many international conferences have been held
in Fuzhou University, including:
กค The International Seminar on Law of Environment
and Resources, 2001;
กค The Second International Symposium on Autobiography,
2001;
กค International Seminar on Interior Designing,
2001;
กค The 7th Asian Conference on Solid State
Ionics, 2000.
Exchange programs have been established with
universities in the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions
of China. The University has kept long-term friendships
with many universities in the regions.
